Building Shared Capacity
Interactive workshops build leaders’ abilities to recognize and respond to key dynamic patterns in organizations, teams,
and industries.  Workshops vary in depth, typically ranging between 2 and 5 days in length.  Applied problem solving for a particular group is often combined, enabling a team to contribute to the development of long-term solutions while they build their ability to see the drivers of performance more systemically.
Facilitation / Mediation
When clients have difficult situations with multiple stakeholders and goals, operational limits, and/or financial challenges, applied systems workshop help to understand how all the issues tie together.  Our tools powerfully and efficiently make visible all the issues, and enabling the group to focus on the most important measures. Learning together always occurs, as participants listen to each other to understand and evaluate proposed solutions.
Simulation Modeling
Insights gained from system dynamics simulations form the basis of our practice. Some clients requiring a more rigorous analysis of various scenarios develop a system dynamics simulation.  After the conceptualization that takes shape in a facilitated workshop, a smaller team translates the causal map into a model, gathers data, tests, iterates, while checking in periodically with the larger group. Simulators while more of an investment, provide higher confidence, data-based conclusions.
Health Strategy Workshops +
There are a number world class system dynamics models that STC has collaborated in developing. Critical insights can be shared with groups of stakeholders in a region, enabling them to gather, to articulate their goals, and to test their favorite strategies. These workshops create alignment among the players, as well as commitment and momentum for enacting change together.  We offer:

Project Process Steps

  • Issue

    Share set of issues, problems, or opportunities. Identifying multiple goals for the project.  Often a difficult or persistent performance issue provides motivation.

  • Design

    Fully customized, design usually includes gathering of a diagonal cross-section of the stakeholders to understand the issues and uncover the structures driving behavior. Further analysis, and interviews as needed.

  • Gather & Analyze

    Stakeholders meet, listen to one another, and learn how their system operates. They develop a shared language and understanding, and identify structural changes that may improve performance.

  • Develop & Share

    Models are developed and potential leverage points are identified. Documentation and translation is provided as needed. Dissemination plan is developed.
